Leaders Need Leadership Training, Academic Papers Alone won't suffice – Pheona Wall
Former Uganda Law Society (ULS) President Pheona Wall Nabasa has expressed the need to have all Ugandans in leadership positions taken through a separate leadership training to promote quality service delivery and keep them up with leadership dynamics.

Wall made the remarks during the launch of the Fedelis Leadership Institute, which she founded, noting that Africa has the potential to address all its problems but the leaders are not good stewards.
“Most of our leaders are not accountable and we think it’s not their fault because we were taught to work hard and arrive at something, not taught what to do there. Leaders in the country are still lacking in the ethical part since they create fences around them thus denying people a chance to reach out to them,” Wall said.
She added that her choice to venture into the mentorship program was driven by the need show the young generation that it’s not only the wicked or corrupt in big offices who can make it in life but even the faithful leaders.
Officiating at the launch, Francis Rogers, the Resident Program Director International Republican Institute revealed that most of African problems can easily be solved but this can only be done after proper mindset change.
“People don’t follow ordinary people but they do extra ordinary people. If u want to be followed, admired, you have to break of the circle where everyone is doing the same thing. Most of the African politicians are rich because as they come into power, they find means of becoming financially okay,” Rogers said.
“The ethical leaders are rare and in Africa, once you chose to do things the right way you will need to get ready to stand alone,” he added.
Rogers further applauded Wall for being a visionary and starting up such a facility “which is going to be key in mentoring the country’s current and future leaders.”
