You have come here to be confirmed. You stand in the presence of God and His Church. Our Lord Jesus Christ gave Himself to death on the cross and was raised again for the salvation of human kind. Baptism is the sacrament in which, by repentance and faith we enter into His salvation; we are united with Christ in His death; we are granted the forgiveness of sins, we are raised  with Him to new life in spirit. In confirmation, we come to be filled through the laying on of hands, with the power of the spirit to worship, witness and service.
